Celebtration Day

On the last Wednesday of Term 3, we hosted our Albany Senior High School students along with co-founders Dr. Nigel Bradley and Hon Nikki Kaye. Trustees Claire Amos and Kristen Gunnell, RNZYS manager Sarah Wiblin, and Envirostrat employee and mentor Liam Hansard were also in attendance.

The students presented their final projects to our guests, showcasing all the hard work they had invested in their projects in 2024.

And the award goes too...

Students were awarded certificates of completion for the 2024 Blue Nature Social Impact Program, which coincided with the NCEA credits they received for their related projects.

We’re excited to offer even more qualifications and opportunities for students in 2025, watch the space.

As part of Albany Senior High School's (ASHS) broader Social Impact Program, all students participate in delivering projects on a variety of interests and ideas.

Sixteen ASHS students were selected to join the Blue Nature pilot at the start of 2024.

Three out of our nine incredible projects were chosen from hundreds to be awarded in the top 10 at ASHS for their outstanding work.

The top project will be announced next term—stay tuned

The future

At Blue Nature Aotearoa, we are extremely excited to see where our 2024 pilot students and their go next!

Many are embarking on new adventures at university, but they will still be supported by Blue Nature and continue working on their projects. Others will be joining us again at RNZYS in 2025 to keep innovating and creating impactful projects with emerging technologies, contributing to a sustainable and biodiverse ecosystem.
